mpower released
a series of radio public service announcements featuring Michele Branch,
Third Eye Blind, Dar Williams, Vanessa Carlton and Canada's Dakona.
Each year, almost 5,000 people between the ages 15 to 24 take their own
lives, making suicide the third leading cause of death in adolescents and
the second leading cause of death among college-age individuals. Through
the words and songs of each artist, the PSAs highlight important issues such
as depression and suicide to motivate America's youth to seek help before
they reach the point of crisis.
Fifteen and thirty second PSAs in both .mp3 and .wav formats are available
for download from this page
as well as www.radiospace.com.
mpower encourages radio stations, including public and college stations,
to air the PSAs and join mpower's campaign to increase mental health awareness
