depression since the birth of her first son. I thought my
sister could just snap out of it. Mental illness is real

By sharing your personal story, you can…
- let other young people know they're not alone
- help people who aren't affected by mental illness
understand it better
- change people's attitudes about those of us who
have mental health problems
- convince politicians to take mental health issues
more seriously
Here are some questions you could address:
Do you have a friend or family member with a mental illness? How do you help
them cope? What helps you cope?
What do you think is the most common myth about mental
health or people with mental illnesses among people your age?
Do you have advice or a lesson you have learned about
mental health you would like to share with other young people?
Have you ever experienced discrimination because of
a mental health problem, at school, work, or anywhere else?
